“That kid Charlie is fantastic; he cheerfully works so hard on the docks- he makes others want to work harder…the club has never been better.” A member of the boating club where Charlie began as a dockhand made this comment, after Charlie, over the course of two summers turned the club from an underperforming place into the busiest location during the peak summer season. He even trained his new boss to become a General Manager. His reward? A management position. Not bad for a high school student! Charlie also has a great passion for running, and has run over 10,000 miles since 7th grade. As captain of both his school’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams, he led his teams to a combination of 5 County, District, and Regional titles, in addition to 2nd and 3rd place state finishes. His tutoring efforts at school have resulted in job offers and he has proudly turned the lives around of some of the students he tutored. Charlie plans to double major in Enterprise Management and Accounting and hopes to coach Track and help underprivileged kids. Charlie is from Destin, FL and plans to attend Wake Forest University this fall.
