In addition to his involvement in Boys State and Boys Nation, Envirothon, FFA and Band, Brandon served as the Captain or President of his school’s speech team, National Honor Society, Knowledge Bowl, Student Council, football and golf teams. He has shown a particular talent in creating a positive team culture, sense of cohesiveness, camaraderie, and ultimately success as he helped lead his football team to the section title game through his efforts. Brandon accomplished this once again as a Senior Patrol Leader while earning his own Eagle Scout rank with 3 Palms. Brandon once again created a positive and motivating culture for the scout troop that resulted in much positive feedback from scouts and parents alike. For his Eagle Scout project, he organized a team of volunteers to clean up a cemetery that hadn’t been cleaned for 30 years and building a paver platform for a bench donated to his church. “Now, I’m looking forward to bringing the skills I’ve learned in these leadership experiences to college and hope to get involved in politics and do what Ronald Reagan did: better the lives of others.” Brandon is from Norwood Young America, MN and plans to attend Carleton College in the fall.
