Ariel’s viewpoint is, “I do not see myself as the main work of art, but more so a part of a remarkable masterpiece in a gallery of citizenship.” She believes in quality over quantity and strives to help other youth find their own inner greatness. At her school, Ariel planned social, school, and community service projects for her entire school. For example, she helped develop a mentoring program for girls in grades 9-11, a tutoring program covering core subjects for students to improve their academic performance, and a Big Brother/Sister program that matches seniors with freshmen to help them transition into high school. She is a teaching assistant at Wayne State University’s Math Corps program, which lets her help and motivate students to excel in education. Ariel was also involved in many other activities, including nearly 1000 hours devoted to Creative Arts Spirit of Excellence. Her goal is to earn her PhD in Neuroscience in the hopes of becoming an Osteopathic Physician. Ariel is from Detroit, MI and will attend University of Michigan: Ann Arbor in the fall.
