“As a young leader who is ‘learning by doing’ I feel accountable for my service and the impact that I bring to my school, my community, and my family.” Alivia embodies her words by working to influence her peers to view volunteering as a worthwhile pursuit and by her four year reign as Miss Mississippi Outstanding Teen. For her platform of “Eradicating Human Suffering” and partnering with her school’s 4-H Club, she launched a HOPE phone campaign to collect old cell phones and reprogram them to connect mothers and their babies to healthcare in developing nations. Alivia didn’t stop there; she was the president of her student council, state president for the Miss Technology Student Association, named Miss Tupelo Outstanding Teen, and has devoted over 200 hours of service to both the Susan G. Komen foundation and to the Prudential Community Spirit Award. Alivia hails from Shannon, MS and will attend Mississippi State University in the fall.
