If you are looking for Halimo, chances are you’ll find her at the library or hospital volunteering. Beyond performing tasks to assist the staff, Halimo used her volunteer experiences to relate to those she served – from ailing patients and their families to underprivileged children. At school, she supported a program that helps special education students use computers and founded her school’s environmental science club. A five-time policy debate medalist, Halimo was also starting goalie for the varsity soccer team, captain of the varsity cross country team, and U.S. history student of the year. From Marietta, Georgia, Halimo will attend Dartmouth College in the fall.
