Barrett founded her own service organization, Chargers for Change, which aimed to build awareness of service opportunities across many causes and charitable groups. Under Barrett’s leadership, the group secured a $50,000 grant to continue its work. She has even expanded the program to other schools and minimized the administrative work to focus on the organization’s mission. Beyond her dedication to this organization, Barrett had deep involvement at school and in her community. She has served as student government president, editor of the yearbook, and as an award-winning participant in Girl Scouts and 4H. An avid photographer from Dallas, Texas, Barrett will attend Southern Methodist University in the fall.
