Amy Shan

As coordinator of her school’s recycling program, she educated her peers and changed their behaviors to preserve our environment. Her efforts received state and national recognition, and she has expanded her efforts to the elementary school level. Amy also has raised funds for childhood cancer research as head organizer for five Alex’s Lemonade Stands, engaging local businesses and media. An accomplished musician, she has lent her talents to service opportunities. She has received numerous high-profile accolades, and was also a state quarterfinalist in debate. From Madison, South Dakota, Amy will study business at the University of Pennsylvania in the fall.
