Hanan Yahya

Although Hanan was actively involved as President of her school’s Student Government and National Honor Society and Captain or Co-Captain of the Varsity Volleyball, Basketball, and Cross Country Teams, her passion lies in improving the world around her through service, wisdom, and integrity. Through the organization Join In to Revitalize Arab-American Neighborhoods, she has participated in a project known as “Youth Dialogue,” which seeks to eliminate misconceptions concerning minorities through interactive discussions and activities. The results of these discussions were published in many forms of media and even impressed a Japanese broadcasting company. Hanan also participated in a Youth Summit that was later covered in television interviews. She is currently developing a Youth Dialogue program that will expand beyond the existing program’s current reach.
