A recipient of the Horatio Alger National Scholar Award, The President’s Volunteer Service Award, The Prudential Spirit of Community Award, The Heights School 2012 Headmasters Award and an AP Scholar Honor, Anthony has distinguished himself as a powerhouse of service both to his school, and to his community. He is responsible for reviving his school’s Service Club, where he put in countless hours in organizing projects to support a local institution for children with Asperger’s Syndrome. He also organized a weekly Big Brother program for this institution, as well as regular visits to a local home for the elderly. Anthony has accomplished all this while fully paying for his tuition at his private school. What was his motivation? “I had a vision, a hunger to see improvement in my life. I dreamt of ways of achieving a meaningful life, of engaging in activities where I would make a positive difference in the lives of others, where I would contribute to my family’s living expenses, and earnestly pursue academic achievement.”
