Michelle Powers Keegan has served more than two decades leading nonprofit fundraising, special events and marketing.  Prior to joining the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, she served as Chief Development Officer at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a world-renowned bipartisan think tank based in Washington, DC where she ran the development office as well as the successful $75 Million Securing Our Future Campaign, the largest campaign in CSIS history. Before that, Ms. Keegan was Chief Development Officer at The ALS Association, and she spent seven years as Director of Development at the historic Ford’s Theatre where she led the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Campaign, raising over $50 Million for the largest and most comprehensive renovation effort in the Theatre’s long history. 

Earlier in her career Ms. Keegan served as Director of Major Gifts at the national headquarters of Volunteers of America where she managed a national partnership with the Major League Baseball Players Association.  She also launched the individual giving program at the International Center for Research on Women.  Ms. Keegan came to Washington from New York City, having led special events and alumni relations for the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University.  She was also the head of marketing and events for the iconic Village Gate jazz club and worked as a special assistant to one of NYC’s top wedding and event planners, Marcy Blum. 

Ms. Keegan is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, having served on the board of the DC Chapter from 2004-2010.  Ms. Keegan also volunteers for numerous nonprofit organizations in the Washington, DC area and in her original home state of Maine.  She holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Southern Maine, and is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.  She is also an accomplished professional actress and singer and professed oenophile.  She lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband Michael and their English Bulldog, Ellie May.
