Gary Cole is the Chief Development Officer of The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute and is responsible for executing a comprehensive and diversified fundraising plan to provide the Reagan Foundation and Institute with the continued resources it needs to promote President Reagan’s legacy far into the future.
Dr. Cole comes to the Foundation with nearly three decades of fundraising experience as a practitioner and consultant to some of the most recognizable brands in the nonprofit sector. In addition to holding executive level positions in higher education within the University of Texas System, he has served as the chief development officer in healthcare, independent school, and national federated nonprofit organizations. Maintaining a commitment to the philanthropic sector, Dr. Cole has held positions as an adjunct faculty member teaching graduate-level Philanthropy and Development courses. He has received the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation and is a recipient of the Ben Franklin Award for Outstanding Fundraising Executive.
Dr. Cole holds a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University, a Master of Arts in Philanthropy & Development from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, and Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. He is married to Dr. Michele Cole, an equally committed fundraising professional, and is the proud father to sons Cameron and Connor.
