Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation

 

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to the promotion of the legacy of Ronald Reagan and his timeless principles of individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy, and national pride. It sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Learning Center, and The Air Force One Pavilion. Located in Simi Valley, California the Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential, and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Position Available

The Foundation seeks a qualified Accountant to work as part of a four-member accounting department.  The department handles all accounting, report preparation, accounts payable and receivables, audit, and tax reporting.  The position will report to the Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position will:

  • Maintain accounting records daily.
  • Compile and analyze financial information from various sources and prepare and post monthly journal entries to general ledger accounts.
  • Conducts account reconciliations and analyses, including researching and rectifying account discrepancies.
  • Act as backup for accounts payable.
  • Provide support in preparing financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  • Assist the accounting department in daily, monthly, and annual activities, including ad-hoc projects.
  • Perform administrative work such as sorting, filing, creating file folder labels, and maintaining the filing system.
  • Other duties as assigned. Foundation staff are often called upon to assist with events involving the public.  These are generally after hours and require direct contact with the public and our special guests.

Qualifications and Requirements

Successful candidate will possess the following skills and traits:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • An excellent understanding of bookkeeping is required, as well as an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIF, etc.).
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to work independently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple simultaneous priorities.
  • Ability to work overtime occasionally.
  • Good interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with a strong sense of personal integrity.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events, including the Reagan National Defense Forum held annually on the last weekend of November/first weekend of December.

Salary and Benefits

  • This is a non-exempt full-time position. The position will be at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, Simi Valley, California.
  • This position will be compensated on an hourly basis at $24.00-$30.00 and will be eligible for overtime.  The rate will be commensurate with experience.
