Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion, the award-winning Discovery Center and the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s mission in Washington, D.C. 

The Reagan Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Position Available

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Associate to support the retail operations for the facility including shipping, receiving, physical inventory, retail customer service and retail website operations.   The Foundation and Library is a fast-paced and demanding environment.  The successful candidate will be willing to roll up his/her sleeves to do the work in support of the team.  He/she will be enthusiastic, energetic and a reliable self-starter. 

Qualifications

  • High School diploma is required.
  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy is in place for all staff.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Customer service and phone skills required to assist customers with placing orders and shipping inquiries.
  • Strong computer skills are required. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs.
  • Must accurately pull, pack and stage orders for shipping and verify orders that have been pulled by others.
  • Must be familiar with UPS World Ship and U.S.P.S. label printers.
  • Basic math and counting skills required for physical inventory & occasional cycle counts.
  • Receive inventory shipments, tag and accurately record stocking locations.
  • Reviews, sorts and determines damaged items to be returned to vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and work within a team environment.
  • Engages with vendors, drivers and all staff with a positive attitude.
  • On-line store and Amazon Marketplace experience a plus.
  • Assists with keeping the stockroom and offsite warehouse clean and organized to include putting products away in proper locations and sorting packing material.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills with attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Must possess initiative, integrity, flexibility and urgency as required in a fast-paced environment.   
  • Good work and time management skills, including flexibility, punctuality, reliability and adaptability.
  • Provides additional backup support as needed in the Museum Store.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Able to access storage shelves on ladder/stool and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Hours of work: Monday – Friday with occasional evenings, weekends and holidays for special events, including but not limited to the Reagan National Defense Forum that occurs annually in late November/early December.

Salary and Benefits

This is a non-exempt regular part-time position, located at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute in Simi Valley, California. This position will be compensated at $16.50 an hour and will be eligible for overtime.  This position offers Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits based on hours accrued per pay period and years of service.  Employees have the opportunity to participate in a retirement program.
