The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is hiring a part-time Retail Sales Supervisor to work in the Museum Store at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. This supervisor will be responsible for product sales but will also supervise team members on the sales floor, including coordination of schedules and the opening/closing of cash drawers. The person hired for this position must be a self-starter, have strong interpersonal skills, excellent communications skills, the ability to multitask and work in a team environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual and well organized, with excellent customer service skills. The candidate must be courteous and possess a positive attitude. - Sales
- Achieve and maintain sales of $225 per hour for the hours scheduled to work. Must lead by example in productivity for the group.
- Provide the highest level of guest service to preserve and perpetuate the image and values of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum.
- Maintain retail area and merchandise in a safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Proficient in POS system functions, to ensure efficient and accurate cash register operations.
- Supervisory
- Foster a team environment among the floor sales staff with the focus on customer service and sales. Lead by example.
- Opening and closing the store locations on time daily. Count cash drawers in the morning and verify end of day cash reconciliations and deposits.
- Coordinate break schedules to ensure appropriate coverage is always maintained on the sales floor.
- Resolve customer complaints and forward unresolved complaints to the Store Manager and/or Director of Retail Operations.
- Assist in effectively appraising and identifying training needs for our Sales Associates. Participate in Associate training to enhance the team’s ability to exceed our customer service and product knowledge standards.
- Ensure the store stock levels are consistently replenished and the merchandise is presented to be visually appealing to our guests.
- Ensure all Health, Safety and Security protocols are followed as determined by management.
- Communications
- Receive communication from staff regarding late arrivals, sickness, other working issues, etc. and communicate personnel-related issues to the Retail Manager.
- Communicate directions or procedural changes from the Retail Manager and answer questions for the staff regarding store operations, merchandise location, pricing, and special promotions. Communications and staff awareness must be consistent all seven days of the week.
- Physical demands include the ability to stand for extended periods of time, kneeling, stooping, reaching, pulling and lifting 5 to 30 pounds.
- Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy is in place for all staff.
- Participating in the preparation of and attending the Reagan National Defense Forum, held annually at the end of November/beginning of December at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California.
- Other duties/functions as assigned or requested.
