The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute (RRPFI) is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion, the award-winning Discovery Center and the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s mission in Washington, D.C. The Reagan Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Job Description/Skills Required

The Ronald Reagan Institute (RRI), the Washington, DC office of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, promotes our 40th President’s ideals, vision, and leadership example through substantive, issue-driven forums, academic and young professional programming, and scholarly work. RRI builds on the legacy and ideas of President Reagan through our three policy centers: the Center for Civics, Education, and Opportunity, the Center for Peace Through Strength, and the Center for Freedom and Democracy. Each of these centers ensure President Reagan’s legacy is advanced in our nation’s capital.

The Ronald Reagan Institute is seeking an intern for the spring 2025 months who can support diverse projects within various program areas. Interns will have the opportunity to work with a small team in a dynamic professional setting while earning college credit as determined by the intern’s university. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, strong time management skills, and a proactive, can-do attitude. Interns are expected to be agile in their working styles and capable of executing complex projects with efficiency and precision.

We are currently seeking interns to work in the following capacities/projects:

  • Support for the various Reagan Institute centers: Center for Peace Through Strength, Center for Freedom and Democracy, and the Center for Civics, Education, and Opportunity
  • Administrative support for the National Security Innovation Base Summit
  • Administrative support for the Civic Leaders Fellowship
  • Administrative support for the Summer 2025 Academy for Civic Education and Democracy
  • Provide research and administrative assistance for the Reaganism podcast and Rendezvous with History podcast
  • Refine and organize program-related data with a keen eye for accuracy
  • Support for social media and other digital strategy initiatives
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative tasks and other responsibilities as assigned

Desired skills for RRI Interns include:

  • Understanding of basic research skills, both background and policy
  • Data organization and analysis, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel and Airtables
  • Ability to draft professional memorandums and communications
  • Collaborative spirit and team-minded orientation

Candidate Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be inspired by President Reagan’s story and contributions to history.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, accountable and professional.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills, be courteous, efficient and possess a positive attitude.
  • Have experience working in a professional office environment
  • Exemplify adaptability and proactive mindset
  • Independently initiate and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Uphold a professional appearance and communication style, both in written and verbal correspondence
  • Must be able to work and support colleagues in a close-knit and group environment.
  • Ability and willingness to learn – and stay updated – on the Reagan Institute, operations, projects and programs.
  • Weekend days may be required, and some evenings may be scheduled for special events.

Salary/Benefits/Location

  • This is a non-exempt part-time Seasonal position, approximately 25-30 hours per week, including weekend days and occasional evenings for special events.
  • This position will be compensated on a $17.50 per hour basis and will be eligible for overtime.
  • The position will be located at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, Washington, DC.
