The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion, the award-winning Discovery Center and the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s mission in Washington, D.C.  The Reagan Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. It also serves as the final resting place of America’s 40th President and his First Lady.

Job Description/Responsibilities

The part-time Facilities Project Coordinator will report to the Building/Facilities Manager, but will work side-by-side with the Assistant Facilities Manager.  Together, and at times independently, he/she will be assigned various projects on and around the campus of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the Air Force One Pavilion and other Foundation-owned or operated buildings, office space, grounds, and off-site locations. This person will coordinate with other Foundation staff, as well as outside contractors and vendors, to complete a variety of projects including, but not limited to, construction-related projects, exhibit setup and teardown, event production and setup/tear-down, off-site storage management, and other projects as assigned. 


We are seeking a “can-do” individual willing to be very flexible in his/her job requirements. This is a critical role that requires good communication, time management, planning skills, the ability to problem solve with sometimes “out of the box” thinking, and the ability to work under time constraints.  The ability to roll up your sleeves and manage multiple projects and tasks while meeting deadlines and ensuring a safe and positive experience for our guests is a must.  The following skills and experience are required:

  • Proven ability to successfully meet deadlines
  • Good team player, communicator, organizer
  • Ability to work effectively within all levels of the organization
  • Typical job hours are M-F 8am-3pm, but you must have the ability to work flexible hours for special projects and evenings, holiday, and weekend hours as needed for events
  • Periodic lifting up to 50 lbs., use of ladders, and other construction-related tools. 
  • Basic knowledge of construction techniques, tool usage, forklift operation, personal safety procedures, use of a small delivery truck
  • Experience with project management
  • Strong mechanical skills, ability to learn and understand new technical skills and information
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting plan drawings
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended period of times, as well as climb stairs and catwalks, crawl inside duct work, and be comfortable in “back of house” areas as well as construction zones.
  • Ability to bend, reach, lift and carry equipment and material up to 50 pounds is an essential component.
  • High school degree required

This is a non-exempt, hourly, part-time position, offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience, plus overtime pay, paid time off, and the opportunity to participate in a retirement plan. The position will be located at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, Simi Valley, California.
