The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion, the award-winning Discovery Center and the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s mission in Washington, D.C.  The Reagan Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Job Description

The Institute in Washington, D.C. seeks a part-time Development Assistant (approximately 20-24 hours per week) to perform a wide range of administrative functions in support of the fundraising/development efforts in our Washington, D.C. office.  The Development Assistant will support the day to day operations of the Director of External Affairs and will be responsible for assisting with: database organization, CRM management, filing and reporting, gift processing, membership support and general administrative functions. This position will report to the Associate Director of Programs and Operations, as well as the Director of External Affairs. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The candidate will be expected to perform such specific duties and responsibilities as are related to this position below and any additional duties hereafter assigned:

  • Administrative functions such as developing and manipulating spreadsheets, mail-merge, creating reports, preparing large-scale mailings, copying, editing, filing, and other related functions.
  • Maintaining proficiency with the Salesforce database, including donor updates, reports, accessing and updating donor files, and maintaining information on prospecting and donor contacts.
  • Maintaining filing system for the Director of External Relations as directed.
  • Scheduling of meetings and appointments, including travel arrangements.
  • Special correspondence and follow-up communication as directed.
  • Special projects, i.e. contributing to research efforts for summits and forums, coordinating logistics for fundraising and other Foundation and Institute events, and other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinating with other Foundation and Institute departments and counterparts as appropriate.

 

 

minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress or completed preferred.
  • Proficiency in donor and prospect database management, especially Salesforce or similar system, MS Word, Windows and Excel
  • Minimum two years successful experience working in an office environment.
  • Proficiency in clerical functions, including mail-merge functions, voice mail, email, internet, filing, and mailing.
  • Detail oriented, good problem-solving skills, with ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Experience and ability to work independently and collegially in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Uncompromising personal integrity

 

salary & Employee Benefits

  • This is a non-exempt regular part-time position, located at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute in Washington, D.C.
  • This position will be compensated on a $13.00 per hourly basis and will be eligible for overtime
  • This position offers Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits based on hours accrued per pay period and years of service
