The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion, the award-winning Discovery Center, and the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s mission in Washington, D.C.  The Reagan Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. It also serves as the final resting place of America’s 40th President and his First Lady.

Job Description

The Education Interns of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute will have the opportunity to work with a small team in a dynamic professional setting while earning college credit as determined by the intern’s university. This position will focus on facilitation and mentoring our middle and high school level Student Leadership Program participants as the students learn the various skills needed to create lasting change in their communities. The interns’ role is to provide guiding influence for SLP students’ leadership projects and be a peer who can relate to their questions.  In addition, the Education Interns will support additional education projects in person and virtually.


An Education Intern must be a motivated and responsible team player able to multi-task in pursuit of the following objectives:

  • Adhere and contribute to the RRPFI and Reagan Education mission and goals.
  • The successful candidate must be passionate about President Ronald Reagan’s legacy and principles.
  • Be in person and virtual (Zoom) to facilitate and mentor SLP students.
  • Support Education events including but not limited to: GE-Reagan Scholar Retreat, Great Communicator National Championship.
  • Attend mentorship meetings with Education staff or senior staff members.
  • Further develop your passion for leadership and communication.
  • Digitize existing content/curriculum and create digital content/curriculum for interactive and effective virtual learning experiences.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in digital platforms including Zoom, Hopin, and Google Workspace.
  • Support development and testing of game-based learning activities (digital and analog).


  • Be self-motivated and capable of independent work.
  • Demonstrate experience in Apple, Zoom, and Google Application
  • Embody a passion for leadership and proficiency in communication skills.

Applicants must

  • Be 18 years of age or older and provide evidence of full-time enrollment at a two- or four-year college or university with a minimum of one semester completed virtually or on campus (i.e., those graduating from high school with college credits this spring are ineligible).
  • Work approximately 25 hours per week (Monday-Friday) between June 10th and August 9th.
  • Submit and clear a background check as required by the Reagan Foundation.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and correspondence.
  • Be self-motivated and capable of independent work.
  • Demonstrate experience in Zoom and Google Applications
  • Review RRPFI Employee Handbook, especially as it relates to working with minors.


  • This is a Seasonal position, approximately 25 hours per week
  • This position will be compensated on a $16.50 per hour basis and will be eligible for overtime
  • The position will be located at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library, Simi Valley, California
