The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute (RRPFI) is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion, the award-winning Discovery Center and the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s mission in Washington, D.C.  The Reagan Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. Position Available

The RRPFI is seeking an Education Program Coordinator that will be primarily responsible for engaging student alumni and administering the Student Leadership Program held throughout the summer at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum. This includes management of the design, implementation, and supervision of daily activities of team members, as well as all participants for the week-long leadership program. In addition, you will support other leadership-focused education programs including the Reagan Leadership Summit, Youth Town Hall, Royal Citizen-Scholar Institute, and other initiatives, and design virtual and in-person opportunities for student engagement throughout the year. The role also includes working closely with our program team to connect participants of our flagship programs into our alumni network. The person hired for this position must be a take-charge professional, capable of independent judgement, with the organizational and facilitation skills necessary to deliver a first-class summer leadership development program for 7th-12th graders. You must have a passion for supporting students as they grow as citizens and leaders. The successful candidate will be willing to roll up his/her sleeves to do the work individually and alongside a team in support of the program. You will need to be enthusiastic, energetic and a reliable self-starter.

Duties and Responsibilities

As the Education Program Coordinator, you will report to the Associate Director of Education. You will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities as are related to this position and any additional duties hereafter assigned:

Coordination and Communication

  • Oversee the coordination and logistics of the Student Leadership program including application process, recruitment and training of staff, ambassadors and interns, forging and maintaining school partnerships, awarding scholarships, facilitation and evaluation.
  • Manage updates and revisions to curriculum and program design.
  • Track and manage student registrations using SalesForce, and clearly and efficiently facilitate correspondence with registrants and their families throughout the application process.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts to promote awareness of the program, alumni stories, promote upcoming events, programs and other opportunities.
  • Develop relevant content to communicate and engage with alumni regularly through a variety of channels, including social media, email, virtual/web-based programming, etc.
  • Execute annual “Scholar Census” to gather updated information from alumni and facilitate the mailing of alumni care packages.

Impact and Engagement

  • Exercise discretion on building long term relationships and engagement with students, alumni and community partners with an emphasis on understanding and increasing the impact of RRPFI Education programs on students’ leadership journey.
  • Cultivate and manage connections with School Partners beyond the SLP program.
  • Connect students to a network of leaders including education, business, and community
  • Recruit student alumni to volunteer/support other Education programs and initiatives (i. Reagan Leadership Summit, etc.).
  • Track progress and continue to support students, both from SLP and other programs, in their leadership endeavors after the program (including campus visits).
  • Use alumni information to tell the story of Reagan Education through social media, video, email and more, in partnership with Development, Marketing and Graphics.

Additional Responsibilities – In addition to the duties outlined above, you will be expected to participate in other events hosted by the Foundation and Institute.

  • Mentoring Simi Valley Youth Council in preparation for annual Youth Town Hall.
  • Working in partnership with Royal High School in facilitating the Royal Citizen Scholar Institute.
  • Lead and coordinate alumni participation at the Reagan National Defense Forum.
  • RRPFI employees are often asked or required to work during special events (annual Reagan National Defense Forum, Center for Public Affairs speaker series, Sunset Dinners, Fourth of July, etc.) to support other departments and the organization as a whole.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Museum Education, or Leadership Development degree and/or student leadership experience is a plus.
  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff.
  • Project management experience is required.
  • Experience mentoring and/or teaching 7th-12th grade students in a classroom, running extracurricular student programming, or museum setting is required.
  • Able to showcase adaptability and ingenuity in high pressure situations.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and adapt well to change.
  • Comfortable with public speaking, conference presentations, facilitating educator workshops and speaking on camera.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for the fields of Education, Civics and Democracy, and/or Leadership Development is a plus.
  • Experience facilitating meetings in person and via Zoom meetings and webinar
  • Experience with Google Classroom or other LMS a plus.
  • Must have experience and a desire to work with a diverse population of students, teachers, parent chaperones, and/or volunteer docent
  • Physical demands include the frequent walking and use of stairs, as well as long periods of standing.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well across diverse teams.
  • Experience managing/working with university-aged students.
  • Online teaching/engagement experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based technology (SalesForce, Google Drive) is a plus.
  • Multilingual is a plus.

Salary/Benefits/Location

  • This is an exempt, full-time position. Occasional evenings and weekends for special events are required.  This position is salaried and is not eligible for overtime.
  • This position offers a competitive salary at $64,480.00 plus excellent benefits, including paid vacation, health care package (including dental and vision), and the opportunity to participate in a generous retirement plan.
