The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the nonprofit organization created by President Reagan himself and specifically charged by him with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion and the award-winning Discovery Center, as well as the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s work in Washington, DC. 

The Reagan Library houses over 60 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers, over 1.6 million photographs, a half million feet of motion picture film, 25,000 audio recordings, 22,000 video recordings, and over 83,000 objects chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan.  It also serves as the final resting place of America’s 40th President and his First Lady.  

Job Overview

The RRPFI seeks an experienced, full-time Content and Communications Manager for the Ronald Reagan Institute (RRI). The Content and Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing RRI’s digital content and processes and overseeing external communications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain comprehensive editorial calendars for all digital communications, including social media, email marketing, website, podcast releases and more.
  • Develop and execute social media strategy with an emphasis on growth, leveraging appropriate channels to support RRI’s initiatives.
  • Lead project management of Reaganism podcast including content schedule, production, and promotion.
  • Build and execute email marketing campaigns.
  • Manage customer relationship management (CRM) database with an emphasis on audience segmentation and strategic targeting.
  • Develop strategies for targeted outreach and audience development for RRI event and programs.
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, using learning to dictate future strategy.
  • Lead RRI website updates and maintenance, collaborating with UX and RRPFI marketing team.
  • Manage lifecycle of projects with graphic design team from design and development to copyediting, and final production. Includes print and digital collateral.
  • Manage relationship with contracted public relations firm to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
  • Liaise with Foundation communications and marketing teams to coordinate promotion of Institute programs and activities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to brainstorm new and creative growth strategies.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and manage key strategies and Foundation & Institute objectives.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement for all staff.
  • Experience in devising comprehensive digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.
  • Proven work experience in digital marketing with thorough understanding of the everchanging digital landscape.
  • Previous experience working with platforms such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Salesforce, Umbraco and email marketing platform preferred.
  • Previous experience with website management preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; focus on prioritization, setting and meeting deadlines, etc.
  • Agility in working style with ability to respond to shifting priorities.
  • Understanding of complex teams with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively a must.
  • Must be located in Washington, D.C.

Reporting Relationships

This position will report to the Director of Programs and Operations in Washington, DC. This position will work collaboratively with the Reagan Institute Directors.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

The position is located in Washington, D.C. but may, from time to time, be required to participate in meetings and/or events at the main office in Simi Valley, California.  The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
