The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute (RRPFI) is a nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the legacy of Ronald Reagan and his timeless principles of individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy, and national pride.  It sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the Ronald Reagan Institute, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion and the award-winning Air Force One Discovery Center.  Located in Simi Valley, California, the Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. It now also serves as the final resting place of America’s 40th President and his First Lady.

Job Description/Responsibilities

The person hired for this exempt full-time position must be a strategic and energetic professional with solid writing skills who will foster engagement, connection, and support from our various audiences (students, teachers, and administrators) through communications and marketing efforts. You will be responsible for the planning and oversight of all marketing and communications for the Education Department, and will work to maintain clear communication channels and workflows. Additionally, you will have responsibilities within communications, digital marketing, social media planning, email marketing that include content creation, distribution, and alumni engagement. You will work closely with the education leadership team and will collaborate with other departments including IT, Marketing, and Graphics. This position will report to the Manager of Operations, Education.

Specifically, you will have duties and responsibilities in the following areas:


  • Develop marketing and communication plans that raise brand awareness, increase attendance & participation in Education programs across the country;
  • Work with various Education program leads to share the story of both existing and forthcoming programs and opportunities, supporting program rollouts; and,
  • Work with outside marketing consultants to oversee the development of an innovative digital marketing strategy for the Education department, leveraging creative approaches to engage audiences across digital platforms including digital marketing, social media, e-learning courses, website, and email and newsletter campaigns.


  • Create engaging content for email marketing, newsletters, and other communications specific to targeted audience;
  • Prepare routine reports for Education leadership by tracking, collecting, and analyzing marketing and communications data; and,
  • Collaborate with the IT team to maintain, leverage, and grow regional and national databases of educators, administrators, partner organizations, and potential stakeholders.


  • Work with colleagues representing education programs to effectively maximize resources, develop team wide strategy, ensure coordination, etc.;
  • Serve as a passionate advocate of the Foundation’s mission and brand;
  • Develop brand identity for program alumni, in partnership with Education leadership; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.


Ideally, a successful candidate for this position should possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree;
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience;
  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all staff;
  • Experience in digital marketing and the evolving trends of the industry;
  • Demonstrated ability to convey professional image;
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills – writing samples will be required;
  • Experience in copyediting;
  • Multicultural competencies and ability to work with diverse individuals and populations, both in teams and independently;
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Microsoft Office, Google Suites, Adobe Suite, Canva, Monday, HTML;
  • Ability to learn new computer programs as needed;
  • Performs effectively and professionally under pressure;
  • Exhibits exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines, multitask and prioritize;
  • A proactive approach and “no task is too big or too small” mentality; and,
  • Ability to travel as needed by the program;
  • Ability to work evening, holiday, and weekend hours to support Education programming and Foundation events including, but not limited, to the annual Reagan National Defense Forum at the end of November/first weekend in December.

Salary, Benefits and Job Location

This is an exempt position that offers a salary commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits including vacation, health/dental benefits, and the opportunity to participate in a retirement plan.  The position will be located onsite at The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library, Simi Valley, California.
