The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the sole nonprofit organization created by President Reagan charged with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion, the award-winning Discovery Center and the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s mission in Washington, D.C.  The Reagan Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers and over 60,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan. It also serves as the final resting place of America’s 40th President and his First Lady.

Ronald Reagan Institute

The mission of the new Ronald Reagan Institute (RRI), operating as an entity of the Foundation from both the Reagan Library in California as well as in Washington, D.C., is to move well beyond the Foundation’s mission to preserve the memory of our 40th President.  The Reagan Institute proactively promotes his ideals, vision, and leadership example for the benefit of generations to come through youth education and academic alliances, scholarly work, and substantive, issue-driven forums.

Job Description/Duties

The RRI seeks an experienced, full-time Communications and Data Systems Manager to support the administration and development of RRI programs and operations. The Communications and Data Systems Manager will be responsible for the implementation of RRI’s internal digital processes and data management, as well as external communications, including digital and print marketing campaigns in support of RRI programs and activities.

Communications & Marketing

  • Develop strategic marketing efforts and manage digital operations related to RRI programs and events in coordination with California-based Chief Marketing Officer, including:
    • Speaker Series
    • University Program
    • Policy Centers
    • Major events, such as the Reagan Institute Summit on Education & Reagan National Defense Forum
  • With RRI leadership and support of a public relations firm, design a coordinated marketing plan and schedule that marries email, web presence, and social media communication.
  • Support the public relations for Washington, D.C. based events, acting as liaison and project manager to a contracted communications firm.
  • Oversee content creation and manage RRI social media accounts in a strategic way that is reflective of the RRI programmatic calendar.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Systems and Data Management

  • Develop and maintain systems and applications related to Washington, D.C. based programming, in tandem with IT team based in California.
    • Develop and maintain RRI website and all related content
    • Build distribution lists (data) with input from RRI leadership, and stakeholders, developing organizational structures to meet programmatic needs.
    • Manage registration systems for Washington, D.C. based events and programming
  • Produce reports of data related to programs and initiatives (e.g. projection of target attendance, analysis of event attendees, etc.).
  • Recommend and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures by working with the IT Department.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Previous experience working with platforms such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Salesforce, Umbraco, or any email marketing platform preferred.
  • Previous experience with social media management a must.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; focus on prioritization, setting and meeting deadlines, etc.
  • Agility in working style with ability to respond to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively a must.
  • Understanding of complex teams with a variety of stakeholders.

Reporting Relationships

This position will report to the Associate Director of Programs and Operations in Washington, D.C. This position will work collaboratively with the Director of the Ronald Reagan Institute in Washington, D.C., as well as the Chief of Technology Operations, and Chief Marketing Officer, both based in California.

Work Environment/Physical Demands
