Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is the nonprofit organization created by President Reagan himself and specifically charged by him with continuing his legacy and sharing his principles - individual liberty, economic opportunity, global democracy and national pride. The Foundation is a non-partisan organization which sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA, the Reagan Center for Public Affairs, the Presidential Learning Center, The Air Force One Pavilion and the award-winning Discovery Center, as well as the Reagan Institute, which carries out the Foundation’s work in Washington, D.C.  The Reagan Library houses over 60 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers, over 1.6 million photographs, a half million feet of motion picture film, 25,000 audio recordings, 22,000 video recordings, and over 83,000 objects chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan.  It also serves as the final resting place of America’s 40th President and his First Lady. www.reaganfoundation.org

Job Qualifications/Responsibilities:

The Reagan Foundation is looking to hire a Seasonal employee to work full-time hours for a 3–6-month time frame. The qualified candidate will work alongside the graphics department with all aspects of our creative and production environment.  Projects include lobby signs, proposals and presentations, quarterly mailers, miscellaneous office documents and certificates, event flyers, staff ID badges, newsletters, marketing and development collateral, Special Exhibit marketing creative, print ads, web banners, misc. photography, and more. The candidate will also be required to print, cut and mount posters, be responsible for taking and re-touching of photo images, and be able to run marketing “errands” including the pickup and delivery of graphics, photos and materials to vendors, etc.  The candidate will need to be able to handle several concurrent projects, work well under pressure and deadlines, and ensure the completion of design projects in a timely manner.  This position will also take on other responsibilities as assigned to support the goals of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute.

The person hired for this position must also have strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong organizational capabilities and the ability to multitask.  This person must also be able to be a part of team and have the ability to work for several different office directors at the same time.  Experience in graphic design required – portfolio will be required during interview process.   

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Graphic Design, Visual Communications and Computer Graphics
  • Proficiency on a Mac and PC using state-of-the-art software to produce accurate and innovative graphic design, to include Adobe CS3, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Candidate must have knowledge of using various Social Media platforms
  • Ability to receive and apply direction and critiques from the Creative Director and other Senior Management
  • Ability to take projects from conception to print in a deadline-driven environment
  • Candidate will be a supportive team member as well as work independently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills required
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Detail oriented with the ability to follow directions
  • Must know how to operate a DSLR Camera
  • AA Degree in graphic design or higher, plus on the job experience preferred
