Non-Profit Foundation - Simi Valley, California

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the Air Force One Pavilion, the Center for Public Affairs and the Presidential Learning Center. Located in Simi Valley, California the Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers, an extraordinary collection of photographs and film, and over 100,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan.

The Reagan Foundation is currently undergoing a complete re-design of its website, including the hiring of a new web development and hosting company. The Manager of Web Services will manage this new relationship and will oversee both the external companies hired to do the website renovation, as well as the internal components for that re-design. The successful candidate will work with different departments within the Foundation (education, marketing, development, etc.) to identify website needs and to transform those needs onto the website. Responsibilities include active participation in the new website architecture and design, understanding external dependencies, and working with the Education, Development and Marketing departments to ensure the website not only satisfies the needs of each individual Foundation function, but that it is also implemented with high quality and performance.

This individual must have experience working with many different teams, be an effective communicator, be creative, and have strategic vision for the Foundation’s website.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Web Site Management
    • Oversee all external relationships regarding the website, which includes (but is not limited to) a web hosting company, a web development company, and any external graphic art requirements
    • Work with department managers to gather requirements, define key project tasks, identify deliverables, and implement those needs
    • Manage day-to-day web services activities, including update posting to website (events, press releases, calendar, museum store items, etc), monitoring traffic and usage reports, and answering and supporting the info@reaganfoundation.org email box
  • Education Department Liaison (a minimum of 30% of daily duties will be to support the Education Team)
    • Work directly with the Education Department to create a Distance Learning program via the web, which includes (but is not limited to):
      • Streaming video/audio clips of Ronald Reagan on the web
      • Streaming video/audio clips of on-site Teacher’s and Student’s Workshops (to include the filming of workshops, conversion of files to web applications, and posting to website)
      • Changing and updating curriculum
      • Creating interactive games for students
      • Scheduling tours online
      • Updating a website calendar of events for upcoming educational programming
      • Research and implement pod-casting for workshops and lessons
  • Add Technological Advances to the Website
    • Research and manage technological advances and incorporate them into the Website
      • Streaming media for the Center for Public Affairs programs
      • Blogging
      • Pod-casting
  • Computer Services Management
    • Work with and manage external computer-tech consultant
    • Help Foundation staff with day-to-day computer maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 5+ years of proven and quantifiable record in project management, web site development and web technologies required.
  • Comfortable working on both small and large projects, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Good professional skills in delegation, negotiation, prioritization and load balancing.
  • Uncompromising personal integrity.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.
  • In-depth knowledge of Web technologies like HTML and ASP, solid understanding of both hardware and software, and basic knowledge of full product development life cycle required.
  • Must be familiar with building dynamic web applications, Cold Fusion, XML, CSS, DHTML, SQL Server, and other leading-edge web technologies.
  • A high capacity for attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Strong management skills with a demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, and provide feedback to staff.
  • Well-developed people and communication skills, suited to working effectively as part of a team.
