Major Speech on International Foreign Policy by Foreign Secretary William Hague

William Hague, Britain’s current Foreign Secretary and First Secretary of State, has chosen the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library to deliver a major speech on international foreign policy when he visits the United States next month.  The speech will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. The event is free to attend; however reservations are required.  Photo identification will be required at event check-in and the name on the ID must match the name on our RSVP list. 

The Right Honourable William Hague MP was appointed Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs on 12 May 2010. He was elected to Parliament in 1989 and is the Conservative MP for Richmond (Yorks).  Prior to this position, William Hague served as Joint Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (1993 – 1994), Minister of State for Social Security and Disabled People (1994 – 1995), Secretary of State for Wales (1995 – 1997), Leader of the Conservative Party (1997 – 2001) and Shadow Foreign Secretary (2005 – 2010). 

During the Ronald Reagan Centennial Celebration in 2011, the Rt Hon Hague was the keynote speaker at the Reagan Foundation’s two events in London which honored President Reagan and his legacy.
