Friday, March 8, 2013

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation was pleased to host Former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush at the Reagan Library for a lecture and book signing on his new book, Immigration Wars: Forging an American Solution (publish date: March 5, 2013).  In addition to his book, Governor Bush discussed the need in restoring America’s Promise: the leadership required and the policy changes that are needed.

To purchase your copy of Immigration Wars: Forging an American Solution, click here.

Immigration Wars, written by Jeb Bush and leading constitutional litigator Clint Bolick, offers a compassionate view of immigration and realistic measures for reforming policy—without the divisive rhetoric—and a roadmap for our country’s future.

Jeb Bush served as the 43rd governor of the state of Florida, serving from 1999 through 2007. He was the third Republican elected to the state’s highest office and the only Republican in the state’s history to be reelected.

During his two terms, Governor Bush championed major reform of government programs. He also remained true to his conservative principles– cutting $20 billion in taxes, vetoing more than $2.3 billion in earmarks and reducing the state government workforce by more than 13,000. His limited government approach help unleash one of the most robust economies in the nation, creating 1.4 million net new jobs and improving the state’s credit ratings on Wall Street.

Currently, Governor Bush is the President of the consulting firm Jeb Bush and Associates and a Senior Advisor to Barclays Capital. He is on the boards of many companies, including the George H.W. Bush Presidential Library, the George W. Bush Institute Board and the Bloomberg Family Foundation Board. He and his wife Columba live in Miami and have three grown children. Jeb Bush is the son of President George H.W. Bush and Barbara Bush.

*Books must be purchased in the Ronald Reagan Museum Store to receive signature.  To accommodate the short timeframe of the book signing, Governor Bush will not be taking posed photographs or personalizing books (he will sign his name only).

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Lecture with Peter Hannaford on his latest book, Presidential Retreats: Where the Presidents Went and Why They Went There. From George Washington to Barack Obama, each of our presidents has sought solace from the tightly structured daily routines of the White House. Peter Hannaford is president of Hannaford Enterprises, Inc., a public relations/public affairs consultancy he founded in 1998. Prior to that, he co-founded The Hannaford Company, which handled all aspects of Ronald Reagan’s scheduling, political liaison and editorial support during the five years between Ronald Reagan’s governorship in California and his election as President of the United States. Before that, Mr. Hannaford was Assistant to the Governor and Director of Public Affairs for Governor Reagan in Sacramento.
