In this lesson students will analyze various factors contributing to the fall of the Soviet Union. They will examine sources that reveal both historical details and rhetoric that led to the collapse of the eastern communist superpower, and ultimately the end of the Cold War. In pursuit of this understanding, students will analyze and evaluate the discourse between Mikhail Gorbachev, General Secretary of the Soviet Union, and Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States.
