To honor the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library will be hosting its annual Veterans Day event on Monday, November 12th, 2012. In addition to a program honoring all branches of our military, the day’s activities include live musical entertainment by the Santa Susana High School Symphony Orchestra and Vocal Ensemble, Civil War re-enactments by the Washington Artillery of New Orleans (includes cannon and artillery demonstrations, as well as a display of hospital, civilian and cavalry tents for exploration), and a display of World War II and current military vehicles. And don’t miss the North American AT-6 Flyover by the Condor Squadron at 10:30 a.m.!
The program’s keynote speaker is Lieutenant Colonel James Zumwalt, a retired Marine infantry officer who served in the Vietnam War, the1989 intervention into Panama, and Desert Storm. An internationally acclaimed best-selling author, speaker and business executive, he also currently heads a security consulting firm named after his father—Admiral Zumwalt & Consultants, Inc.
All Veterans Day activities are free for the public to attend; regular Museum admission rates apply to visit the exhibits. Veterans with valid ID will receive free admission to the Museum on both November 11 and November 12. Active military members with valid ID are always free.
