Saturday, June 28 – Sunday, June 29
During the fourth weekend in June each year, the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) “Field Day” event mobilizes radio amateurs (“Hams”) to communicate under simulated-emergency conditions. While preparations may begin on Friday afternoon, June 27, Amateur Radio operators at the Reagan Library will earn “points” for contacts made with other stations during the 24-hour period from 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, through 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 29.
This is the 14th consecutive year that the Ventura County Amateur Radio Society (VCARS) will hold Field Day activities at the Reagan Library. Joined by members from the Simi Settlers Amateur Radio Club (SSARC), the combined group will be operating under the Special Events Call-Sign of “N6R”. During the event, visitors will be able to listen to Amateur Radio communications, talk to Amateur Radio stations located in other states and countries, and find out more about obtaining an FCC Amateur Radio License.
This event is free to attend, however regular museum admission rates apply to visit the Reagan Library exhibits. For more information on Reagan Library events, please call 800-410-8354.
