The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is pleased to offer our Baseball Lunch and Tour in conjunction with our special exhibit, Baseball! Celebrating Our Great American Pastime. Enjoy a served meal and delectable dessert prepared by our Presidential Chef, while listening to our guest speaker, Jerry Reuss. You can purchase a copy of Jerry Reuss’ book, Bring In the Right-Hander!: My Twenty-Two Years in the Major Leagues, to have signed following his lecture. Books must be purchased at the Reagan Library Museum Store to receive signature.
Jerry Reuss is a former left-hand pitcher who enjoyed a 22-year career (1969-1990) in Major League Baseball. The native of St. Louis was a two-time All-Star selection, was named National League Comeback Player of the Year in 1980 and was a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ in 1981 World Championship team. He won 220 games with a career earned run average of 3.64 and 1,907 strikeouts while pitching for the St. Louis Cardinals, Houston Astros, Pittsburgh Pirates, Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds, California Angels, Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers. After his playing career, Reuss worked as a broadcaster with ESPN and the Angels. He served as a pitching coach with the minor league Iowa Cubs before returning to broadcasting with the Dodgers in 2006 as a color commentator.
Following the served lunch, guests will receive a docent led tour of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Museum, Air Force One Pavilion, and our highly anticipated special exhibit, Baseball! Celebrating Our Great American Pastime. Casual dress or your favorite baseball team’s jersey is suggested.
