The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is proud to present a special opportunity for student athletes and other young leaders. Elementary, Middle and High School classes are invited to engage in a discussion with Olympian Derek Parra on dedication, serving the community, and what it means to be an athlete and role model. From humble beginnings, L.A. native Derek Parra showed incredible perseverance and determination as he climbed up the ranks in roller skating to become a world record holder. At the top of his field, Parra switched his path to speed skating to become a two time Olympic medalist in the 2002 Winter Olympics.
