Lecture and Book Signing with Michael Steele, RNC Chairman

On Wednesday, January 13, 2010, The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation welcomes Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele for a lecture and book signing on his recently released book, Right Now, a 12-step call to arms for grassroots America. Right Now argues for abandoning “conservatism-lite” and returning to core conservative principles, while launching an uncompromising campaign for limited government, just as President Reagan did. The book signing is free and will take place at 4:00 p.m. in the Library’s Museum Store*. The lecture will begin at 5:00 p.m. For more information, please call 805-522-2977.

Michael S. Steele was elected Chairman of the Republican National Committee on January 30, 2009. As Chairman Mr. Steele is setting a new direction for the Republican Party - actively engaging Americans in their local communities and empowering state and local Republican organizations to do the same.

A self-described "Lincoln Republican," Mr. Steele earned a place in history in 2003 when he was elected Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, becoming the first African-American elected to statewide office in the state.

Mr. Steele's ability as a communicator and political analyst have been showcased through his roles as a contributor on the Fox News Channel and regular host of the Salem Radio Network's nationally syndicated Morning in America Show. Additionally, Mr. Steele has appeared on cable political talk shows such as HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher and Comedy Central's The Colbert Report. His writings on law, business and politics have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times,,, and The Journal of International Security Affairs, among others.

*Books must be purchased in the Reagan Library Museum Store to receive signature. All proceeds from the sale of the books purchased from the Reagan Museum Store benefit The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, the nonprofit organization that sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum, the Air Force One Pavilion, the Center for Public Affairs and the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Learning Center.
