“Tear Down This Wall”

Text Size

On Monday, November 9, 2009, The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall by tearing down a 32 foot long replica of the Berlin Wall. The replica, set adjacent to the Library’s authentic piece of the wall, was erected on October 15, 2009. Visitors to the Library can paint their message on the wall to represent the artwork put up by the people of West Berlin every Saturday and Sunday from 1pm - 2pm, between October 17 and November 1.

During the program, which begins at 9:30 a.m., fifth grade students from Wood Ranch Elementary will recreate the day, twenty years earlier, when citizens and guards alike picked up bricks, rocks and hammers to tear the wall down, reuniting West and East Berliners.

This program is open to the public and free to attend. No reservations are required. For more information, please call 805-522-2977.

Museum admission rates apply to visit the exhibits and Air Force One Pavilion.
