| ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, AIR FORCE ONE DISCOVERY CENTER
The Air Force One Discovery Center at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library will be an immersive, educational experience designed to inspire the next generation of student leaders. Scheduled to open early next year, this Discovery Center will be a place where students can experience the responsibilities and challenges faced by the Executive Branch and those individuals closely associated with the administration. This comprehensive, high-tech learning environment includes a replica Oval Office and White House Press Room, a Boeing flight simulator, and a military situation room aboard a U.S. Navy ship.
Within the different modules, students will have the opportunity to become advisors to the President, top level military officials, members of the White House Press Corps, or even the President! Using a combination of pre-visit preparation materials and post-visit discussion, students will practice and improve their critical thinking and decision making skills in a comprehensive learning environment unlike any other in the nation.
This individual will be an employee of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation.
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that sustains the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, the Air Force One Pavilion, the Center for Public Affairs and the Presidential Learning Center. Located in Simi Valley, California the Library houses over 55 million pages of Gubernatorial, Presidential and personal papers, an extraordinary collection of photographs and film, and over 100,000 gifts and artifacts chronicling the lives of Ronald and Nancy Reagan

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest/background in education, and be committed to providing all of our student visitors with an exciting learning opportunity. We are looking for an enthusiastic, versatile professional who interacts well with children of all ages, and is able to provide necessary instruction. Daily tasks will consist of sending out preparation materials to teachers, confirming reservations, introducing the Discovery Center to students and teachers, and scheduling of Discovery Center facilitators.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude
- Genuine commitment to education and learning
- Must have experience with and a desire to work with a diverse population of students, teachers, parent chaperones, and volunteer docents
- Excellent judgment, as well as strategic problem-solving/decision-making abilities
- Comfortable speaking on the telephone, and in front of a group of students, teachers, or volunteers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with new technologies or willingness to learn how to operate new technologies
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills Effective organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Schedule school visits and Discovery Center related tours
- Administrative tasks, including compiling and sending materials to teachers
- Knowledge of how technology is integrated within the Discovery Center
- When necessary, serve as the lead facilitator on the floor of the Discovery Center
- Assign other Discovery Center facilitators and docents to needed positions on a daily basis
