Scholars Program

The eleventh year of the Reagan Presidential Foundation Scholars Program was another success! A record number of 168 seniors graduating from Ventura County high schools were designated Presidential Foundation Scholars. The 2010 Scholars exemplified outstanding leadership skills as well as strong character throughout their four years of high school.

This was also the first year we had 2 keynote speakers: Captain Billy Monahan of Los Angeles County Fire Department and Hunter. Captain Monahan has been with the Urban Search & Rescue Program of the Department since 1989. With the help of Hunter, a live scent Search & Rescue Canine, 11 people were rescued in their latest deployment to Haiti.

This year the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation awarded $50,000 in scholarships. Awards are designated for tuition, books, and room and board only.

Be sure to check back in January 2011 for the next Reagan Presidential Foundation Scholars Program's requirements and deadlines.
